This was something advocated in Localism, a Philosophy of Government. Written in 2012, it is more relevant today than it was the first day the ink dried. Counties should be able to change states if they feel like the state capital or the rest of the state does not share their values or is taking advantage of them. What is just, should they be forced to stay and be governed by the people in Eugene and Portland who look down on them?
I was surprised that most counties in eastern Oregon had already had votes to leave...
